What is CCIE?

This is an internationally recognised certification meant for senior networking and communication professionals. Considered the highest certification of Cisco, CCIE validates your expert-level knowledge and skills in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure.

To understand what CCIE is, you must note that it is basically a series of technical certifications for senior and expert-level professionals. The CCIE certification programme is divided into six separate tracks. These tracks, or series, are:

CCIE exam fees

Recently, Cisco revised its CCIE exam fee. The fee structure is given below:

CCIE written exam fee: The CCIE exam fee (for the 350-xyz and 400-xyz series, including CCDE (352-0011)) has been revised from $350 to $400 for each of the exams mentioned. In India, you can pay in INR by converting the US dollar to INR. Currently, 1 US dollar is equivalent to Rs. 83.36.

CCIE Lab Exam and CCDE Practical Exam Fee: It has been enhanced from USD 1500 to USD 1600.

CCIE mobile lab fee: Currently, you have to pay a fee of US$ 1900, which earlier was US$ 1750.

CCIE eligibility

CCIE is meant for senior networking professionals. Your CCIE eligibility criteria are:

1. You must have post-secondary training in computer networking.

2. You must have completed an associate-level or bachelor’s degree in networking or networking management.

A candidate should have a minimum of three (to five) years of practical experience in networking as an employee in a company to be eligible to appear for the CCIE exam.

CCIE R&S exam fees

The CCIE R&S exam fee is US$300 per module. Fees can be paid in INR by converting them into Indian rupees.

CCIE security exam fees

Following are the cardinal points regarding the fee structure of the CCIE security exam fees:

The CCIE Security v6 exam costs US$1600. The total cost for the CCIE Security V6 exam is US$2000. Payments in India are received in INR after converting the USD into the Indian rupee.

CCIE R&S eligibility

Though Cisco does not specify CCIE R&S eligibility criteria or qualifications, you must note that thorough knowledge of topics in CCNA and CCNP R&S is required for the exam. A candidate must be at least 13 years old to be eligible for this exam.
