Future of IT Networking

Many students ask me the question that what is the future of IT networking. My answer is very simple, the demand is great and it is going to increase at least 10 times in the next 8-10 years. The reason is very simple. As we can see that more and more companies are getting established everyday throughout the world. Many of these companies have users sitting at many locations. All these users need to communicate in order to work effectively. And you need IT networking to be setup to make this possible. As more and more companies are setting up their offices, more networks needs to be set up and more and more Networking Engineers are required to do so.

If we notice, even hospitals, hotels, manufacturing firms hardly had any IT setup 10-15 years back. However, the scenario has changed today because of the explosion of Internet. Everything has gone online these days and this is how the end user wants it to be. We want to fix up the appointment with doctors online, we want to book our flight, train, bus tickets to be booked online, we want our rooms to be booked online. We even want to order our grocery online. So now when anything and everything is going online, IT setup is needed to make sure that these services are available 24x7. Even five minutes of downtime is going to cause huge loss of revenue to the companies, which is why great IT setup is the need of the hour. And you need IT engineers to make sure that the network is up and running 24x7.

And keeping in mind that even now 99% job seekers have no idea that IT networking is going to be in such a great demand in future, not many IT engineers are not available and demand is going up day by day. Most People still think that networking is all about connecting few computers in a cyber café. They have no idea that IT networking is much more beyond that. Networks have become so bigger and complex today that expert and skilled network engineers are needed to handle these crucial networks throughout the world.

The traditional approach for most job seekers even today is to go for safer career options like doctor, lawyer, and software engineer, CA etc. where there is lot of competition. And one of the reasons for this is that many of the job seekers have no idea about the demand of networking in today’s world and that it is going to increase multifold in future.

So this is the time to forget the traditional career options and go for a great career option like IT networking. You will find yourself comfortably working in a great IT company and earning a handsome salary and growth options will be great.
