Changes in Exam Fee of CCNP and CCIE/CCDE certification exams by Cisco Systems.
Cisco recently announced CCIE exam fees changes for various professional, specialist and expert level certifications. The changes that have been made in CCIE exam fees are as follows:
1. Earlier the Cisco certification exams fee for professional, specialist and some other technical exams like 300 - xyz, 500 – xyz, 600 – xyz, 640 – 864 (CCDA) , 642 – xyz, 644 – xyz, 648 - xyz series was 200 USD(Per Module/Exam) which now has been changed and revised to 250 USD for each of the above written exam series.
2. Fee for CCIE written exam of 350 – xyz and 400 – xyz series including CCDE (352 - 011) written exam has been revised from $350 to $400 for each of the exams mentioned.
3. Earlier the fee for CCIE Lab exam and CCDE practical exam was 1500 USD which has now been revised and changed to 1600 USD.
4. Change in fee of CCIE mobile lab has been revised from 1750 USD to 1900 USD.
Why Cisco changed Exam Fee for Professional(CCNP) and Expert(CCIE/CCDE) Certification Exams?
Cisco made these changes in exam fee of CCNP, CCIE & CCDE certification exams in order to promote growth and keep alive competitive spirit in the IT industry. The changes in the fee structure of various exams made will be effective from 20th June 2014. Changes in CCNP/CCDE/CCIE exam fees have been made in order to expand the utility of Cisco certifications in various IT areas like cyber security, Data Center, network programmability, etc. and to meet the requirement of more CCIE lab seats. Cisco certifications like CCIE requires more complex tracks for practicing which are expensive yet necessary to remain up to date with the new technologies introduced.

Students who have already registered themselves before 20th June, 2014 for any of the Cisco exams mentioned above will not be affected by the fee changes even if you want to change your registration date/time post the revision date. But, if an aspirant cancels his/her registration and re-registers himself for the exam on 20th June, 2014 or after will have to pay the new revised fee. Who so ever registers after the mentioned date will have to pay as per the new fee prices for booking his/her exam. Also, if you have given your credit card details before 20th June, 2014 and your exam is after 90 days or more of 20th June, 2014, then also you will be charged as per the new fee prices for the exams listed above. Bit trouble will be faced by CCIE/Expert aspirants as most of them book their CCIE lab exam seat 4-5 months in advance and Cisco punches the credit card 3 months prior than CCIE lab exam date. Those all will have to pay new and updated exam fee of CCIE lab exams.
